The centre of the town is designated a conservation area with art galleries and small museums. The thriving town provides an excellent range of day to day shopping facilities, cafes and restaurants. The Lake District National Park provides a wonderful setting for outdoor activities including walking, climbing, cycling, horse riding, fishing and watersports.
