Two desirable blocks of woodland located close to the town of Lochmaben available for sale as a whole or in two lots. Lot 1 extends to 9.10 acres (3.68ha) of coniferous woodland nearing maturity with a right of access from the public highway. Lot 2 extends to 64.59 acres (26.14ha) of broadleaf woodland with small sections of coniferous trees.

The parcels of woodland are located just to the East of Lochmaben.

The blocks of woodland are located to the East of the Castle Loch Nature Reserve. The reserve hosts a variety of wildlife including many migratory waterfowl, birds of prey and a number of mammals including otters, roe deer and red squirrels. The woodland provides an extension to this excellent mosaic of habitats, providing a nesting opportunity for many native small woodland birds, owls and other birds of prey.

Enquiries have been made with the Scottish Forestry Commission who have confirmed there are no grant schemes, dedications or felling licences with outstanding  obligations.

Sections of this block of woodland have been harvested in rotation, providing components of mixed age regeneration. There is a beck running through the woodland providing subtle areas of wetland habitat. Access is from the public highway and there is also a right of way over the access track shown brown on the attached plan.
